In a deeply saddening turn of events, television personality and actress Shefali Jariwala, best known for her unforgettable role in the iconic Kaanta Laga music video and her stint on Bigg Boss 13, has passed away at the age of 42.

According to early reports, Shefali reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during the late hours of Friday night, between June 27 and 28. She was immediately rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, accompanied by three others. Sadly, doctors declared her brought dead upon arrival. While the precise medical cause is yet to be confirmed officially, cardiac arrest is currently suspected as the leading reason.
A video circulating online shows Parag Tyagi leaving the hospital visibly distraught, refraining from any interaction with waiting media. In another deeply emotional moment, Shefali’s mother was seen arriving at the hospital in a state of shock, overwhelmed with grief.
Condolences and tributes have started pouring in from across the entertainment industry. Actor Aly Goni expressed his sorrow on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Shocked and saddened to hear about Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise. Life is so unpredictable. Rest in peace.
Shefali shot to fame in the early 2000s with her bold appearance in the remix hit Kaanta Laga, a video that became a cultural phenomenon. Dubbed the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” she became a defining face of India’s remix music era. She also made a brief appearance in the 2004 Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, starring Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Later, she transitioned into reality television, gaining renewed fame through shows like Nach Baliye, alongside her husband, and later Bigg Boss 13. Her entry into the Bigg Boss house made headlines, especially due to her past relationship with fellow contestant and late actor Sidharth Shukla. Despite their history, Shefali had spoken about the mutual respect they shared during and after the show.
Her untimely passing has left fans and colleagues stunned, especially as many are still grieving the loss of Sidharth Shukla, who passed away in 2021.
