In a story that sounds straight out of a movie, a British YouTuber has successfully tracked down his lost AirPods a year after they vanished in Dubai — only to find them in Pakistan. Miles Routledge, popularly known as “Lord Miles” on social media, shared the surprising tale of how modern technology, local police, and a bit of luck helped him recover his missing gadget.

The 24-year-old content creator explained that his AirPods Pro went missing while he was staying at a hotel in Dubai, likely during a housekeeping visit. Fortunately, the “Find My” feature on his Apple device remained active, providing a location update months later — from Jhelum, a city in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
What started as a simple device recovery turned into a viral story. The location data pointed to a popular local spot, a restaurant humorously named “2nd Wife Restaurant.” As the unusual detail caught attention online, Routledge reached out to the Jhelum Police for assistance.
Authorities quickly took action, tracing the AirPods to a local resident. The man claimed he had unknowingly purchased them in Dubai from another seller. Local law enforcement reportedly arrested the seller for dealing in stolen goods, while Miles personally traveled to Pakistan to retrieve his AirPods.
Upon his arrival, he was greeted warmly by local officials and media. Sharing his experience online, Miles said, “I was welcomed like a celebrity. Dozens of people recognised me from the story, and the police were incredibly helpful.”

Adding a lighthearted ending to the episode, the YouTuber was also treated to a meal at the very restaurant where the AirPods were last detected.
This quirky incident has become a widely followed story, blending travel, tech, and unexpected friendships, proving that sometimes lost things — and stories — find their way back home.
